EDIT: The title of this journal seems to have misled several of you so I am clarifying... the Wishbone series is NOT on DVD currently.  The point of this journal is to try to gather support for the show so that the people at HitEntertainment will consider releasing the whole series on DVD.  Please send an email to the email address listed a couple paragraphs below if you enjoyed the show in the past and would like to see the series on DVD.  Also, if you have friends who enjoyed this show too and might be able to send along an email of support, please let them know that their voice would be appreciated.  END EDIT

I'm not sure how many of you remember or even watched the Wishbone TV series back in the 90s but I do know that many of my watchers are canine lovers so I thought I'd run this by you...

I've been waiting years for the Wishbone series to be released on boxset DVDs.  In the past few years, I have seen this "trend" of making current and older TV shows widely available on DVD in nice compact boxsets.  So I thought for sure, Wishbone was going to get the special DVD treatment soon.  It never happened and still hasn't.  There have been a handful of episodes released to VHS and only four of the fifty or so episodes made it to actual DVD format.  It was hugely popular back in the day but it seems that because there isn't a loud enough demand for it recently, the folks at HitEntertainment haven't chosen to put the time, effort, or money into a proper release of all the episodes.  This is where you come in.

I talked to their consumer relations department and spoke with a very friendly and helpful representative.  One of the things she is responsible for is  monitoring internet forums and keeping track of how much attention their different product names have been getting.  She also gave me the correct email to refer people to if they wanted to put a word in for the support of getting the series released.  The email can be found here:

Please, if you enjoyed this show while it was on TV and would possibly be interested in purchasing the series on DVD if it should ever get released, drop HitEntertainment an email expressing your enthusiasm and support for "the little dog with a big imagination".  If enough people ask for it, it will get the attention of the higher-ups at HitEntertainment.

And here are some features selected out of the scanty amount of Wishbone related deviations here on DevART:

I remember the series... I love it so much that I cried when I heard that they canceled the series. :tears:

Sad to say this is the only piece of Wishbone that I have left.

Ah! I've seen your cast photo here on DevART in the past and have admired it. It's definitely a unique piece of Wishbone memorabilia and completely deserving of your adoration of it. :aww: I have a good handful of Wishbone promotional pieces and toys and have posted pics of some of them to my toy account, ~The-Toy-Chest here: [link] :)

Great place to post about this. I may just have to forward this to my family and see if I can't get this as an internet movement. I love wishbone and just reread one of my wishbone books recently because my computer died and I had nothing to do that day. I read that and all the American girl books I had laying around.

Mind if I pass this along in my own journal at least?

Oh, please do. And if you can get this going as an internet movement, that would be awesome too! :D

I love Wishbone! I'd have to buy three copies if it came out, one for me, one for my 4 year old cousin, and one for my mom who loves dogs anyway, and adored that show!

I love Wishbone so much. What would be the best way to phrase an e-mail?
