Whee, it's been awhile since I've updated my journal and I feel that it's high time to do so. There's a couple things I wanted to cover in this entry and I think I'll start with the Photobucket issue.
Art theives have long since been reposting artists' stuff on their Photobucket accounts, and since Photobucket offers a print service, it's very, very easy for other people to make money off of art that is not theirs.
Here's an article that sums up the situation nicely: www.plagiarismtoday.com/2008/0…
And the petition you can sign to put an end to this: www.petitiononline.com/pbarts/…

Commission work has been going well for me. I've been working harder at getting through my list and I sincerely apologize to everyone who has been waiting for so long. Traveling and the holidays set me back quite a bit at the end of last year and I'm now striving to put more effort into getting them done in a more timely fashion. They will all get done, I promise I'm not ignoring your order. And if you feel that I have, drop me a note and ask me about your commissionns status. I'll be happy to reply.

So yeah, commission work has pretty much been my life lately. At night and in the evenings in my spare time I've taken to reading Shakespeare. I became interested in his works back when I first read Susan Cooper's King of Shadows a few years ago. Honestly, who can read that book and not find at least a little interest in themselves for Shakespeare and everything that he is. Cooper's book really brings him to life and shows how magical his plays and writings are.
As worthy as his plays are of study, they are written in in old English and poetic verse which is very pretty but makes it very hard to grasp the concepts as well as the subtelties of many of the scenes. Sooo, I've taken to reading through each of the plays with their corresponding Cliffs Notes companion pamphlets. They make everything so much easier to undertsand and lay out all the plotlines and themes that Shakespeare so eloquently works into each of his plays. So far I've made it though A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Tempest.
I'm also reading through multiple Shakespeare biographies and I love the success story of Shakespeare's life. He started out as a young man with but a few coins in his pocket as he started out for London. Several years and many plays later, he was a wealthy land owner and had made quite the name for himself. From the information we have, he was a mild mannered, easy going gentleman and I would love to have known him.
Unfortunately, none of my friends share my enthusiasm for the genius that is Shakespeare so I'd love to know if any of you have an interest in and read Shakespeare for pleasure. I'd love to hear what you have to say and if there's any books or websites that you can recommend.

And as before, I'm a travel agent too so if you have any future travel plans, please consider booking your flight, hotel reservations, etc. with WildSpiritTravel.
This website is easy to use and it can help you save money and time when researching vacation plans. Please check it out here: www.wildspirittravel.worldventures.com It's really convenient because the search puts all the rates for the different airlines/hotels up on the same page rather than having to hunt around each site (Orbitz, etc...) separately. It's kind of like the "Google" of travel.

Jubilant Return!
Hello all! That happy day has finally come and I am now a college graduate with a degree in Studio Art and a minor in Art History!! Four and a half years of slogging through seemingly endless days of classes, piles of homework, and mountains of exams and final projects! But all that is done now and I believe I have come out the other side better for the experience. I have grown as a person but certainly as an artist as well. And, now that I no longer have college work taking up so much of my precious time, I can now direct more of my energy into my artwork!
One of my big goals this summer is to get my commission queue running smoothly again
Follow Me on Social Media!
Thank you all for your comments and suggestions on my last journal entry concerning the prolific theft of my work. I read each and every comment and am taking a new route when posting my designs. Instead of uploading high quality scans of my work with bright white backgrounds, I have started taking low resolution cell phone photos and posting those after adding a couple fairly unobtrusive watermarks. Hopefully this will make them (at least somewhat) less of a target now.
In other news, I am now present on many of the popular social media platforms!

A Couple Topics For Discussion
Hello all! Hope your summers have been going well! I've been having a wonderful time not having to worry about classes or upcoming school assignments and wish the summer could just go on forever! Alas, the school season will be back upon us soon but at least I only have one year left to complete my degree! Anyway, it's been a long time since my last journal update and I have a couple things to discuss.
:star: In Need of a New Photo Hosting Website :star:
To start, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for a good free photo hosting website for storing sketches, completed works, and photos? Photobucket has been getting more and more g
Summer Sale!
Hello, everyone! How has your summer been so far? As wonderful as the summer months can be, they are quickly winding down and will come to an end in the very near future. Yes, I know, I don't want to hear that either...
Along with summer's conclusion, the next semester's start is on its way and my necessary textbooks are not going to buy themselves. With that pressing issue in mind, as well as the tuition for an additional class that I need to take this semester for my degree, I will be holding an end-of-summer sale to raise some money to help pay for these expenses.
From now until August 20, commissions are 10% off!
