Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of equivilant exchange. In those days...we really believed that to be the one, and only, truth...
He was gorgeous...but not too bright, unfortunately. His one failing was a deeply-ingrained fear of thunder. Whenever a thunderstorm started, he would jump the fence and run to the front of Granny's house to try and get in the front door.
One summer day, Granny had the plate-glass storm door closed, but the wood door open...and one of those summer thunderstorms came along. Granny raced for the front of the house, knowing that Scot would be on his way in a panic...but couldn't get to the door before he'd leapt through the plate glass...fatally cutting himself.
Poor old thing...donated that storm-phobia to his offspring, too.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. They came from my grandmother, those two collies did...who had their sire and dam. Their sire was a glorious, huge sable collie by the name of Scot.
This picture very much reminds me of him, big goof that he was.
Thanks for the grin...I needed it today.
