A picture inspired by a dream I had where my wolf, Hakurou, was a shape shifter. I never imagined him as a horse before but he made a pretty good equine. He was just as amazing as a horse as he is as a wolf. In his horse form, he was as fast as the wind and could leap great heights with ease. Sitting astride his back during his exhilartaing jumps was almost as good as my dreams where I'm able to fly.

In this dream he had taken me on his back to a country cottage where I would be safe from the source of evil in my dream (can't remember the details but I know he brought me to this house as a place of safekeeping). Shortly after my arrival there, a creature of some sort of canine form came to the house and was scraping at the doors trying to find a way in. I was certain this wasn't a friend but something to be feared. Terrified, I began calling Haku's name over and over in hopes that he would somehow, wherever he was, hear me and come to my aid. To my great relief, he arrived outside the house in wolf form and the size of a large St. Bernard at that. Loud, angry snarls came from outside the house as they began to tear into each other. It frightened me so much that I went farther back into the house in an effort to escape the terrible sounds coming from their fighting. Hakurou was easily the victor and came into the house looking for me to make sure I was alright. He then spoke to me me with his thoughts and told me that he had to go far away for a short while to take care of some things but as long as I stayed within the house he had brought me to, I would be under his protection. As far as I can remember, the dream ended there. It was such a memorable dream that I wanted to do something in honor of it and I was also curious to see if I'd be able to pull off the horse Haku version in my artwork. Enjoy.
