Panda And Shield Design by WildSpiritWolf Panda And Shield Design by WildSpiritWolf
This is :iconkcmutt: 's completed commission, two of two, this one of a panda holding a sabre in its mouth and a shield under its left paw. It says "Semper Paratus" which is Latin for "always ready."

:bulletred: I do apologize for the obnoxious watermarks but they have been put in place to help cut down on the prolific theft of my artwork as well as to protect the commissioned art that was designed for my clients' use. It is an intensely frustrating thing seeing a design you worked so hard to create being reposted or even sold elsewhere without your knowledge or consent and that does not even begin to cover how my clients feel about it. And that is why the watermarks exist and are going to remain. Any snarky comments regarding them will be marked as spam. :bulletred:

Please do not copy, trace, alter, or redistribute this anywhere in any way, shape, or form!

This design was created specifically for the commissioner's use only. If you would like a design custom created for you, drop me a note or see my FAQ journal entry here: [link] if you need more info.

Hahaha, I remember coming to your house and you were inking this and the ink pen exploded in your hand! It's still incredible though. :)

Heehee, that is too adorable, Tahlin!

I've been wondering this for a while, but never had the right words to express the question... when you do the colors in photoshop now and then, do you do the lines in traditional ink, for example, the outline of the shield?

Thanks! And yes, the outlines are generally done by hand (such as shield outline) though some other things are not (like the red and white quartering inside the shield). That help? :)

Yep, thanks! I do NOT trust my programs enough to do something like that, though... :XD: You have Photoshop, though, don't you? The only way I can blacken my tattoo pieces is by using the area selector in, like, paint.NET, and filling it in with black, same with getting the background white. OTL

Ah, yes, I do have Photoshop. My scanner is a really nice one too so that helps keep things clean and bright for me.

 You're very lucky with that. For my past birthday my parents got me a portable scanner. It kind of looks like a hair straightener, haha, but I've had relatively few problems with it and I find I have so much more control with it. It's battery powered and so very easy to take a long with me in travels!

So I take it that your images take minimum editing? Especially with colored pieces, do you find yourself tweaking them in programs a lot?

Haha, travel size for your convenience! :D

My scanner is a behemoth. I was kind of surprised when it arrived because I thought as technology is getting more advanced, things are getting smaller. I felt a bit jipped but really enjoyed the quality my scanner was capable of. Then I read that the bigger a scanner is, the better quality the scans are and suddenly things made sense and I forgave my scanner for being so huge. :XD:

So yes, my images do require minimum editing. Usually, all they need is a little darkening but every now and then, I get one where I have to tweak the colors in Photoshop to get the scan true to the original art. :)

Indeed! It's so easy to slide into my laptop case, and I love that to pieces. To get the images onto the computer itself, it has a USB cord as well as a mini SD card.

Haha, well, I guess we can forgive its mammoth size in return for its wonderful scams of your artwork. :XD: My only problem with that would probably be the space. I'd end up being like, "Yay! My new scanner!" then standing there looking around like, eh, where to put this deadweight...?
