Description

Another blood painting I did last week while visiting my pack. The blood for this one was given by Kyle, our pack's Alpha. I included the knotwork in the corners since he has an Irish heritage and I wanted to reference that in his portrait.

And yes, it is real blood. I used a paintbrush to apply the blood to the paper and it took a little over an hour or so to complete. The photo was taken shortly after I was done painting and the painting was then promptly placed between the pages of a book to help slow the inevitable oxidization process.

I apologize for the glare on the picture. Because of the layering of the blood "paint", it had a nice sheen to it once it was done and the camera picked up on that all too well.

Paint: Blood
Paper: Parchment
Time: 1-1.5 hours

It is very pretty. Looks fresh.
There must be a way to paint effectively in blood, moreso than the usual I see which is dull, shallow and discoloured.
