So I was roped into doing yardwork with my family this past Saturday and came across this weed with the most amazing berries. The juice from this particular plant had the brightest, most colorful juice I had ever seen from a wild berry. Fascinated, I gathered a bunch of them and tucked them away for later. Even though I was at a total loss as to what sort of picture would look decent done with this pink stuff, I figured I would be able to come up with something.
Last night as I was mentally flipping through certain thoughts and the poses that would accompany them, I really took to the one you see above and the inspiration struck. I finally knew what I could paint with my berry juice.
While it's not quite as deep or powerful as working in blood, I figured the bright happyness of the berry juice fit the mood of the picture and I happily set to work on it today after my commission work was done. So for everyone who is grossed out by my blood paintings, here's one that you can enjoy.
